Invitation to The Bunyas Exhibition Opening
Thurs 7 March 2013 @ 6.30pm
Exhibition ends: 15 June
Gallery 2, Artisan, 381 Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley
You probably already know them. Bunya nut trees. In Queensland, Bunyas are everywhere – cities, towns and beyond. They are culturally significant, even if you hadn’t really noticed them. You can find out more at the opening of The Bunyas. This is an intimate exhibition of ceramics and photography inspired by my time wandering through the Bunya Mountains National Park (if you want to study Bunyas, this is the place).
Exhibition bonus: This opening will coincide with the opening of Creativity Of Meenas in Artisan’s main gallery space – monochromatic paintings produced by Meena women from Rajasthan, India.
If you can’t make the exhibition check out the beautiful catalogue – Pine. The catalogue contains a review by Louise Martin-Chew and covers key works from my last three solo exhibitions.
